About EcoTrack

EcoTrack runs bushcraft, nature awareness and forest school activities and programmes for adults, teens, children and families.  We'll also collaborate with you to run a multi-disciplinary project, train your staff or get a new programme up and running at your site.

We aim to enable people to directly experience nature and develop skills in order to enhance overall health, wellbeing and sense of connection to the natural world.

We hold a commitment to role modelling and mentoring awareness and integrity in personal conduct, to enhance confidence through development of skills, knowledge and experience and to work towards fostering an embodied sense of care for others and the natural world.

EcoTrack is run by Richard Gould, an ecologist and outdoor educator specialising in nature connection, bushcraft, forest school, wildlife and nature conservation. He aims to help people develop a solid foundation of nature skills, nature awareness and nature connection to enhance their lives and their work.

Since 2003, Richard has designed and run programmes for a variety of schools, groups, outdoor providers and charities including the RSPB, the Wildlife Trusts, Carymoor Environmental Centre, Paddington Farm Trust, and Trackways Primitive Survival School. He has worked with a wide range of clients, including inner city children, refugees, mental health groups, drug and alcohol rehabilitation groups

Richard has a Level 3 Leaders Qualification (OCN) in ‘Forest School and Environmental Education’ (2012), has a certificate in ‘Game Ranging’ from EcoTraining in South Africa (2004), and an Honours degree in Psychology from Nottingham University (1997). He has undertaken extensive training with ‘Trackways Primitive Survival School’ (2001 – 2012, who he also worked for, and has also undertaken several trainings with Jon Young and the Eight Shields Institute.

He is inspired by the work of Jon Young in his vision for promoting nature connection, by Tom Brown Jr for his teachings on developing both skills and awareness, and by Waldorf educational approaches for balancing ‘head, heart and hands’

EcoTrack holds appropriate Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance. Further details on our Policy and Procedures are available on request, and are in line with current best practice for Forest School providers.
